Since the ceiling is a hallmark of the interior of the room, the most open and prominent place, then it needs a very crucial approach to its decoration. If you paste the wallpaper on the ceiling with your own hands, all the flaws of the ceiling can be hidden. And, if you approach the case thoroughly, then even the most daring design solutions can be implemented.

In ancient times, the ceilings were decorated with magnificent painting, frescoes, stucco. This distinguishes them favorably from a boring modern design, which in recently was the only possible. With what envy sometimes we look at the luxurious design of ancient castles, it is not in vain of this kind of inlay – a model for modern architects.

Modern designers offer a great many design options, but before applying one of them, you need to carefully examine the surface of the ceiling for various bumps, cracks and other shortcomings. Ceiling repair will require a lot of difficulty and the money spent. In order not to do this, you can solve the problem in a simpler and more affordable way. Namely, let’s try to paste the wallpaper on the ceiling with your own hands. It remains only to choose them correctly.

The most quality, durable and environmentally friendly are fiberglass wallpaper. Quartz sand, limestone and dolomite, which are compressed like paper are being made for their manufacture.

More affordable and convenient in work can be called vinyl, as they can even be washed, thanks to polyvinyl chloride covering the paper base. But they do not “breathe” at all, which contributes to the appearance of mold.

As for non -woven wallpaper – even an amateur can stick them. Glue for non -woven wallpaper should be applied only to the surface of the walls or ceiling.

Well, finally, paper wallpapers. They are environmentally friendly, inexpensive. But they have a short service life – no more than 5 years.

In order to properly glue the wallpaper on the ceiling with your own hands, you need to follow the simple rules.

The first strip of wallpaper, stuck correctly – the key to success. To do this, at a distance of 50 cm from the edge of the ceiling, you need to draw a flat line. Then we cut off the wallpaper canvas, given that the segments should be longer than the ceiling width by about 8 cm. This is necessary in order to get a small overlap. Lubricate the wallpaper with glue, which should be somewhat thicker than usual. Wallpaper – capricious material, therefore, the harder the wallpaper – the thicker you need to cook glue. To smear the wallpaper with glue, you should use a wide brush or a small roller, and then the wallpaper is doubled, glue inward. We glue the first strip of wallpaper along the intended line, pressing them to the ceiling and smoothing them with a brush, removing air bubbles. When we glue the second strip – you need to go along the joint with a special corrugated roller. The remnants of the adhesive glue must be removed with a clean rag, avoiding drying. After the end of the work, you need to give the wallpaper to dry well and only then remove the excess wallpaper with a sharp knife.

It is important to remember that the wallpaper is afraid of drafts, so the door and windows in the room, until the wallpaper dried up, must be kept closed.
