Chipboard – modern, affordable, practical and convenient to use material.  It is produced from sawdust of natural wood, which are crushed and using formaldehyde resins are connected under a hot press.

A huge amount of furniture is now made from this material. At the same time, responsible manufacturers use only high -quality chipboard, since in the opposite case the furniture will not be durable and safe. What is the danger of chipboard? The fact that it contains resins that can evaporate during the operation of the product, and are harmful to humans. The number of resins must comply with the established standards. Some company manufacturers neglect these standards to reduce the cost of production.

DSP is used not only in furniture production. He is one of the most chord building materials. Choosing chipboard /is not very difficult. Fortunately, its errors can be seen with the naked eye.

When choosing this material, you should verify its safety – find out the amount of resins that are in its composition. Based on this quantity, the degree of toxicity of the woody plate is determined. Unfortunately, it is impossible to do without formaldehyde resins in the production of chipboard. The smallest thing they can cause in a person if they are present in too large quantities is allergies. But more serious consequences are possible, such as poisoning and cancer.

By the degree of toxicity, wood-and-piece slabs can be of three classes: E1, E2, E3. E1 – ten milligrams of formaldehyde per hundred grams of dry component. E2 – from ten to twenty milligrams of resins. E3 – from thirty to sixty milligrams of formaldehyde.

The furniture industry should be used by chipboard E1, and only. The remaining options for the manufacture of furniture are not suitable, as they are too dangerous. At the same time, the chipboard E1 of grade has the highest cost among other types of this material.

Furniture manufacturers before buying chipboard conduct thorough tests in chemical laboratories to determine the composition of the material as accurately as possible. An ordinary person has no such opportunity, since this process is very expensive. But it has a nose with which it can determine the degree of toxicity of chipboard. The fact is that formaldehyde is famous for a very unpleasant, pungent smell.  Therefore, if the furniture smells similarly, it is not recommended to purchase it.
