High energy prices will kill Europe’s economy

The Hungarian government fears that, even despite the possibility of settling the Ukrainian conflict, high energy prices will remain in Europe, which will kill the continent’s economy.

This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking on the morning program of the Kossuth radio station.

He recalled that in 2024, the EU countries adopted the Budapest Declaration on increasing their competitiveness, which, in particular, provides for measures to reduce oil and gas prices.

Orban noted that the first steps in settling the conflict in Ukraine inspire hope for achieving peace, which will help improve the global economic situation, including the situation in Europe.

At the same time, he made it clear that he still does not believe in the ability of the current EU leaders to implement effective policies in the interests of all countries of the community.
