Preparing walls for wallpaper gluing is a responsible and very difficult operation. First of all, the wall is freed from old wallpaper. For this I exist different methods.
Most often, wallpaper is removed with a sharp spatula. If it doesn’t work, then they are moistened from the sprayer with warm water. Washing wallpaper is wiped with sandpaper or rolled with a roller with spikes. This is necessary for the rapid penetration of fluid to the adhesive layer.
Wetting sometimes repeated several times, interval for 5-8 minutes. There is no need to rush here. If watering water does not help, use a special liquid. There are many varieties of fluids to remove wallpaper in stores. The method of their use is indicated on the packaging. After getting wet, the wallpaper is easily removed, where they need to help with a spatula. Difficulty areas are steamed with an iron.
To remove the old vinyl two -layer wallpaper, they are cut, then removed with a spatula. The lower layer, if it holds well on the wall, is used to stick new wallpaper.
When painting walls with paint, the surface is cleaned with sandpaper, exfolved areas are removed. Water -based paint is soapy with soap solution, then removed with a spatula. Washing with hot water and sponge, often changing water.
Then evaluate the state of the plaster layer. Carefully examine the places where the plaster is sprinkled, check for the presence of deep cracks, tap the wall in search of places where the plaster is lagging behind the base. If such places are found, the plaster layer is beaten off.
Golds – a fungus that appears in places where the walls raw causes great trouble. The walls are treated with forfluide and polyfluid. These are fluids that destroy the fungus and prevent moisture from penetrating.
Plaster, putty, primer
Further by sandpaper, irregularities, hillocks, transitions are cleaned. Large recesses, potholes, cracks are smeared with plaster. After its drying, the surface is primed, then go to putty. Use wide and narrow spatulas. First, the corners are put off, if necessary, they are aligned. Putty is applied with a thin layer.
The final stage is grinding. It is produced with good lateral lighting. With him, all the bumps are visible. Using a special grid and sandpaper eliminate roughness. Then dust is removed from the surface, primed. The primer contributes to better sticking wallpaper to the wall.
