Metal -plastic windows

Modern windows can be made from different materials – plastic, aluminum, wood. The most popular type is metal -plastic windows. They are a combination of a metal frame with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) external and internal profile. A plastic profile may contain one or more internal chambers. Naturally, the cost of plastic windows is directly proportional to the number of cameras.

The metal frame provides mechanical stiffness and stability of the entire structure. The high operational properties of a metal-plastic window are provided due to the following consumer characteristics of the PVC profile:

durability due to resistance to external atmospheric influences and corrosion;

high thermal insulating properties due to tightness;

manufacturing manufacturing due to plasticity;

simplicity and safety of operation.

Glazing of the premises by means of PVC profile is called “warm”, in contrast to the “cold” aluminum profile characteristic. The names display an obvious consumer advantage of metal -plastic windows over aluminum. The latter are mainly used for glazing production facilities, the requirements for thermal insulation of which are not as high as in residential premises. In addition, their price is below the cost of plastic windows.

Wooden windows also have good heat -insulating properties. It is believed that they have an advantage over metal -plastic, thanks to the inherent wooden products, the possibility of air microcirculation through them. This is true, since the metal -plastic windows are absolutely sealed. However, in their modern constructions, this drawback is overcome by introducing a special ventilation valve into the design.

The cost of plastic windows, in addition to the number of cameras in the double -glazed window, is influenced by their size, the quality of the plastic and type of chosen structure (folding, transom, rotary). The size of thermal insulation chambers should be sufficient for the air that is in them effectively blocks the heat leak. It is recommended to avoid too cheap plastic options. The thickness of the outer wall of the double -glazed window deserves special attention, which should not be less than 3 mm. With non -compliance with this requirement, the design of the double -glazed window will not be strong.
