It is not yet known how exactly the mechanism is implemented. However, according to the images published on the iF Design Award page, the display probably uses a folding technology – its additional parts slide out on the left and right, and the central area remains above the keyboard.
Another feature of the device is the LED indicators on the lid of the laptop. Apparently, they can be used to display notifications, but there are no details about their functionality yet.
It is worth noting that Compal is an ODM manufacturer – the company develops devices for other brands and does not sell equipment under its own name. This means that the Infinite Laptop may remain a concept, as happened with other developments of the company.
However, the idea is interesting – unlike Lenovo, which is promoting vertically expanding screens, Compal decided to go wider, which could open up new possibilities for users.
