Gypsum thread

Gypsum carvings are used to create various decorative details, inserts for decorating walls and ceilings in residential buildings. The thread on the gypsum is proceeded by the creation of a drawing of the future ornament and transfer it to thick paper, which will continue to serve as a template.

They do this as follows: the paper sheet is folded in four, and the rapport pattern is applied to its upper part, then its contour is pierced with a needle. Next, the sheet is laid out and the pattern is obtained by holes marked at the edges.

The gypsum workpiece is formed in a square form, where the gypsum solution is poured into two sunset: for the first fill, the solution is made in the proportion: 2 parts of the gypsum, and 3 parts of the water, knead to the thickness of the paste and evenly pour the shape, the thickness of the layer should be about 20 mm. Then, after a 10min, the surface of the solution is wetted with a damp cloth and the second layer is applied. Since the pattern will be applied to this layer, you need to knead the solution very high quality and at least 5 minutes. After the solution dries, a drawing is applied to it, through a previously created template, the dashed points transferred to the workpiece are combined into a continuous line by putting them out with a pencil.

Then they take a scalpel and hold it at an angle of 45 degrees along the marked circuits of the picture, separating the layer of gypsum from the pattern, from time to time wetting the surface of the stove with water. Upon completion of the work, the processed plane of the gypsum plate is aligned with a knife, and the protruding embossed ornament is rounded with a scalpel, giving it a complete look.

A qualitatively executed ornament will emphasize and decorate any surface, give it expressiveness and organization.
