According to the media in Sochi, the next stage in the construction of the ice arena began. Currently, builders are engaged in the installation of a plastic pipeline in the Ice Palace itself. This pipeline is designed for coolant circulation, which will be used to uniformly cooling the ice arena. In total, builders will have to lay 24 kilometers of pipes. This moment of construction is one of the key points of the entire construction process. The installation of this cooling system is necessary to ensure the performance of the entire ice complex as a whole.
The process of cooling ice is in several stages. First of all, the reinforced concrete slab on which the pipeline is attached is glossy. After this begins the process of freezing ice. The ice is freezed evenly, in several layers. The ice is covered with purified water, which instantly freezes. Distinguish between “draft” and “commodity” types of ice. The initially there is a freezing of black ice. The thickness of the coating, after the end of the freezing process is approximately 5 centimeters. Simultaneously with the installation of the cooling system, builders install the stands for the audience and clean the interior. It is assumed that the ice palace in Sochi will be able to fit up to twelve thousand people at the same time. It is planned to complete all current construction and decoration work by the end of 2012
