The rapid and large -scale development of the construction and engineering of the last century is based on one small, seemingly possibility – a reliable connection of metal parts by welding. And the welding process, without which the reinforcing buildings of buildings, pipelines and even metal fences would not create, is impossible without the use of welding wire. With the help of welding welding wire from various parts and nodes, a stable and holistic device is collected.
When welding, the wire has a dual value. On the one hand, when melting, she forms a welding seam. On the other hand, the welding wire acts as an electrode participating in the creation of a welding arc with another electrode – a welded part.
A durable welding seam is provided by a uniform chemical composition of the used wire and an attached element. Non -ferrous metal products are welded by wire of the corresponding type of metal, wire for welding of ferrous metals is made of carbon steel.
With automatic and semi -automatic welding, the wire is supplied with a mechanism in the welding zone, where it melts, forming a welded seam. The oxidation of the weld is prevented by supplying inert gases (helium, argon) or using powder flux.
Welding wire is divided into three types of different applications:
1. Continuous. Welding continuous wire is available in the form of a metal thread with a diameter in the range from 0.5 to 12 mm. The choice of wire diameter depends on the required size of the weld and the thickness of the connected parts.
The chemical composition and dimensions of the continuous wire are installed GOST 2246-70. According to GOST, the wire is subject to marking depending on its composition. For example, wire marked as SV08G2C contains 0.08% carbon (digital designation 08), 2% manganese (G2) and 1% silicon (C). SV letters indicate the purpose of this wire as a welding.
To protect the base of the wire from rust, an omeled wire is produced, to connect parts from stainless steels, a wire of similar material is used.
2. Powder. Powder welding wire is a pipe filled with 15-40% flux powder. The use of flux excludes the need to use protective inert gases, which allows welding in any weather, for example, a strong wind. However, welding with powder wire requires the use of specialized equipment.
3. Activated. Activated welding wire contains the activated components added in its basis. The use of these additives minimizes the spraying of the metal during welding, promotes rapid ignition of the welding arc and creating a high -quality seam.
All these types – from welding wire for stainless steel to activated wire, are involved in the creation of reliable, strong compounds of disparate parts daily, forming our life surrounding us with cars, various units and buildings. Wire welding SV – guarantee of constancy and reliability of any connection.
